It will keep the kids entertained for an hour or two. Hot and humid in there so take some water with you. Wear bright coloured clothing, it attracts the butterflies.

its a fab place, my kids loved it when they were young. The handling bit is the best for kids, they got to handle centipede's, snakes, spiders. As said above its very very hot and humid, but such a great place for them. Good luck getting discount vouchers, not seen any around, you could try online to see if you can find any.

I got ten 2 for 1 vouchers for Butterfly World when I joined Dobbies gardening club a couple of months ago. I think it was about £12 for a year's membership and also gets you free tea/coffee vouchers for Dobbies coffee shops.

There's a Dobbies next to Butterfly World.

Probably just a one off visit to Butterfly world so was really just looking for discount on the day. Wouldn't use the Dobbies vouchers either as I prefer to use local garden centre Torwood in Larbert.
    Thanks for the info anyway

Have a nosey round Dobbies though, there are fish and small animals for sale. I would avoid the cafe! Many rave about it but I was not impressed. There was and I am sure there still is a play park just outside Butterfly world where there are picnic tables if its fair!

it's great to see the kids' faces when they see the giant butterflies - I have fond memories of DD standing stock still trying to get one to land on her hand, poor thing it never did happen but she'd have loved one to land on her.

  • If you look for leaflets for Butterfly world in the tourist leaflet section (I've no idea what they're called, big polastic stands with the leaflets on them) in places, the leaflet usually has £1 or £2 off entry. This is the only discount I've ever seen for BW.

Had a really good time there, worth the money imo. Once you pay you can come and go as you please, it does get a bit warm at times inside. Went over to Dobbies but I find them a little on the expensive side but worth a browse anyway. Had a few nibbles of the food tasters available;) so didn't get hungry.
Wee man said he had a really good day so that makes it worthwhile to me:j
