If plastic no problems once dried out, may blow fuse if element has been wetted
But seriously, think about it. Kettles are designed to get wet - in a wet environment (your kitchen sink).
They're always getting water splashed all over them during their working life. It's what they do.
I've had many a watery mishap with mine, wiped it externally and carried on making coffee. It's just not a problem.0 -
Any water in the wrong spot will just evaporate away when you turn it on. Nothing to worry about. I know it says do not immerse but I do when I descale it. Much easier to clean. Leave it overnight to dry and it'll be fine. When I worked in electronics we used to wash circuit boards (from switched mode power supplies) in soapy water to get the water soluble flux stuff off them. It never harmed them.
Edit: If you don't want the kettle send it my way. Thanks....:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
