Hen night car...

lol you may remember me from the hen night head ache thread... well after a couple of chill pills the headache is almost over!

My friend (the hen) and her mum have decided nuts to the rest of those hopeless friends, and want to do something just the three of us (hooray, i never liked them anyway, and the hassle they caused just proves that point! LOL) so i suggested that they come to London, where they can get a reasonably cheap train fare for booking ahead or getting on the old slow London Midland train for 20-odd quid, and stay at my house for free (my boyfriend is packing his bags to escape us already LOL) They love the idea, and want to go for a nice meal and see Legally Blonde at the theatre. Easy peasy.

But as ever i have my thinking cap on... i know she so wanted a limo ride! But prices from my flat to Covent Garden are around £150-200 - it's about 5 miles tops i'm sure!!! As there is only 3 of us, i suppose a limo is a bit pointless... but i'm wondering... and believe me i have googled but i can't seem to find anything!! i was wondering is there like a way i can hire a pink car, like a nice mini or something a bit fancy (not not a stretched car) to take us there (with a chauffeur etc)

i just think it would be a lovely surprise for her to see that we're not getting the bus there, but most 'town cars' seem to be just boring grey/silver executive type things... and i really can't afford those limo prices!

or any other weird suggestions you might have?!

I think this might work out cheaper too. As for limo find out whether they charge for milage or time and check out the y****w P***s on line they might have numbers for smaller operations

Yeah, i did have a look thru the old pages, but they were all roughly the same price :( and seems a bit like 3 of us would be rattling round in a limo! and a lot wanted them to have it for min. of 3 hours :(

Also thinking of other things if this is too much or doesn't fit in... there's a makeover studio round the corner, i've just emailed them for the prices of a half day makeover shoot for the 3 of us, it would be a nice memory for her and she loves to be pampered and feel a star!

If you want to book a cheap makeover thing, make sure you sign up to the group buying sites - livingsocial, groupon and crowdity come to mind - I've seen offers on them recently for a £12 makeover and photoshoot (down from £145 or something mad!) - in London. Might be worth keeping an eye out for if you've got a week or so?

    Good idea Vicky thanks!

One has come through today that is really local, for only £10 each but it says no group shots. and i bet they're very pricey for anything beyond the free picture they let you have, as i've done it before... but i might ring them anyway, £10 each is not to be sniffed at!

I also wondered about checking Gumtree for London - they sometimes have things like posh cars for hire on there? Had a quick look for you, but couldn't find owt.
Maybe worth phoning a few firms and explaining your situation and asking for a deal?

    thanks!

It's seems tho there are only 2 companies in London offering a pink taxi cab... and they want a minimun 3 hours because they specialise in weddings more than just general short trips :( gutted!

I am really racking my brains for something extra special!! Hope some good offers come through from Groupon etc in the mean time! :A
  • found this : http://www.allinlondon.co.uk/directory/1064/39634.php dont know if that helps...

other than that, if you are based in london , maybe look out for a pink cab, flag it down when you see one, and ask for the guys taxi number so you can book him personally again???

thanks, will give them a ring! i had seen the name come up in Google but it just said they were a ladies only cab firm, didn't see the part about their cars being pink too! i'm guessing their part of the bigger Pink Ladies firm from up North,as i googled them and it came up as a members only taxi/club etc the pink kangoos look a laugh! Hopefully they aren't too expensive!

Just had a call back from a photo shoot place which is next door to me (ideal!) and they can do a half day makeover/photoshoot for about £30 without a picture, or £50 with... but that was individual pictures, so i'm going to give her mum a bell and see what she thinks of the idea if she's up for it i'll see if i can negotiate a deal where we pay 30 but have say only 1 or 2 outfit changes (the original deal is 4) but get a group photo to keep... perhaps i've been watching the apprentice too much!! The lady was really nice saying i was welcome to come and decorate the place first too to add to the surprise!
