Hi There,
Made bankrupt in Nov 2009, discharged year later, have done the credit clean up, all good so far. Issue with equifax in that a debt collection agency searched my file on a debt nearly 12 years old. I queried this with equifax and finally got a response from meckensie hall to the following:
First and foremost I find it prudent to inform that any search carried out by Mackenzie Hall is with regard to an unfulfilled contractual obligation held by our client. Authorisation for such search(es) has been given under the terms and condistions of the original credit agreement.
Now this debt was inlcuded in bankruptcy although not listed due to its age, also not sure how legal that statement is about the orginal agrement.
I am due a call back and just would like to have the facts ebfore I go off on one.
It should be noted I had already provided them details and they said they would close accounts and remove search but as is typical the person I spoke to did none of the things he said he was going to do, hence me trying again to resolve
cheers
