Dear All
I have been going through an acrimonious divorce for the last 3 years. At long last we had an agreement for a clean break providing she settled a certain joint debt for £5700. She came to an arrangement to pay some of it and so got her off the hook leaving me with a CCJ for the balance. However 6 weeks later for the clean break she paid the balance of the debt due. I now have a CCJ, all be it settled and a certificate of satisfaction showing the debt cleared some 6 weeks after judgement. I can provide any lender with the court decision agreeing that she has to settled the debt for the clean break. However this has led to me not being able, probably to port my mortgage or to move house as with the new lending criteria out there it would appear no one willing to help even though I have 50% deposit etc
Any ideas from anyone where to go in order to secure a mortgage
Regards
Michael

Hi
Whilst it won't be easy to get a mortgage with a satisifed CCJ it shouldn't be impossible considering the significant deposit you have. Suggest you speak to an independant mortgage broker who can search lots of providers including sub-prime. You should be able to find a mortgage allbeit at a higher APR than you would have done without the CCJ.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0
