Morning all,
I am currently in the early stages of bankruptcy and have enlisted the help of Chiltern: the debt people for advice with the possibility of paying for their help. Has anybody had any dealings with this group or heard any feedback??
Many thanks

In that case there are dozens upon dozens upon dozens of people here who have experience filling in those forms.
They forms look intimidating, but are not really that bad.
In the very unlikely event that there is something we can't help with, then you can speak to somewhere else free like National Debtline who are very good. Or as a completely LAST resort, pay for help.
Otherwise, I honesty wouldn't throw good money down the drain paying for help that can be had for free. Plus I've heard some horror stories about firms that "help" you go BR.
The BIG thing however is, have you been advised that bankruptcy is your best option? If so, by who?
That is one thing we can't do. We can't say whether it is your best choice.
The court will normally ask whether you have taken advice that BR is in your interest, so it's a step that can't/shouldn't be skipped.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I have spoken to the National debtline and to CCCS and they have both confirmed that bankruptcy is unfortunately the best way forward for myself. It is not something i take lightly and to be honest im quite ashamed that i find myself in this situation. I have been advised to download forms 7.26 and 7.28 from the insolvency website however they are saying that its forms 6.27 and 6.28.
Thanks for the swift responses on here i was on the brink of handing over borrowed money from the family , your responses have saved me £8000 -
If you are going personally bankrupt, then it is forms 6.27 and 6.28.

There are links in that thread to the forms, examples of how they are commonly filled in, guidance notes on filling them in, and other explanations/factsheets on how to petition for your own bankruptcy.
Anything that you can't find the answers to there, then feel free to ask on the board.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

I paid for help, but due to my high income / debt levels it was affordable. HOWEVER I would strongly urdge you to think long and hard before paying for any service as it is possible to do it on your own .. with some great help from the forum, CAB, CCCS etc.
Paying for help took some of the pressure away for me as I really utilised the service but knowing what I know now I would never pay for insolvency advice again.
They are really cashing in on people in times of crisis and often take advantage...0
