It's only the implementation date that's a recent change, the equalisation of pension ages was announced many years ago.0 -

I'd willingly stand for the 5 or 10 additional years of life expectancy enjoyed by women. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Do you have a link for that?0 -

All private pension schemes had to equalise retirement ages for men and women from 17 May 1990. For some reason the state scheme was exempt from this, but it was always announced that it would be equalised at some point.
How do you think all of the men who retired to date feel about the fact that women would live longer and could retire 5 years earlier?0 -

Write and ask your MP as that is what I did.
The more that ask may make them think about how they look by their electors.
The word NIMBY comes to mind.
I did think about putting the letter in the bathroom but I just shreaded it in the end as it was such a load of garbage.Signature removed club member No1.

what did your's say. The answers I've seen in other threads is that they don't know.
The scheme rules of their pension say it will use the same rate as other Public Sector schemes & S2P (ie CPI)0 -
Maybe he or I got it wrong but he is a minister and they have got a lot wrong recently.

Hi. I am one of the ladies affected by these changes as I was born in April 1954. Anyone else affected may find this link useful:

Thought this had been changed ages ago by Labour.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0

How have you had to work an extra 6 years with this legislation?
There is not a single thing in this legislation that is increasing the state pension age by that long or anything close to it.
The 1995 legislation increased it 65 by 2020. It is bring brought forward by just one year. Then the increase to 66 (passed by the previous Govt) is being brought forward by 5 years.
So, the worst case scenario is two additional years. Not six.Hi. I am one of the ladies affected by these changes as I was born in April 1954. Anyone else affected may find this link useful:
You are pretty much the "worst case" example as you would have been April 2018 but will be April 2020 instead. What is the retirement age of MP's and what are their T&C of retirement ?
Exactly the same as everyone else with their date of birth. The state pension age is not based on occupation. Just as they day you choose to retire is not based on the state pension age.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only.
