OUT - A ham joint which we had on Sunday then the left overs (not much) were chopped up and added to some tomato soup that used up a few of the tomatoes we had been given. Also took out some minced beef which were turned into meatballs which we had for tea with pasta and mushroom sauce.
IN - 6 extra meatballs
Finished off a jar of cranberry sauce as well.MARCH £62.38/2500 -
Breakfast - free cereal (finished pack) and OJ
Lunch - pancakes, used last egg, 1/4 pt soya milk, 2oz flour
Dinner - pesto pasta with HG courgette/beans & apricot crumble
Out of freezer: lemon juice for pancakes, 1 portion of crumble mix
In to freezer: 1/2 ball mozzarella and rest of soya milk (will use both later in week for more polpette/cakes/pancakes).0 -
Hello, I'm back!!!
I've seriously fallen off the wagon these past few months and I confess to shopping more than I should and not using what I have.
I still have the remnants of an inventory which is largely the same, but I need to try and use what I have as money is extremely tight at the moment and almost more importantly I have no space in my cupboards or freezers!!
I still have an out of date jar of chestnut puree which I don't really know what to do with, but will come up with something. If anyone has any new ideas it needs to be milk free as my son is intolerant.
Kirri, I noticed that you've frozen the soya milk, I read that it didn't freeze. What do you do with it?0 -

I'm sure I've frozen it in the past...? Hmm I will report back on how successful it was later in the week! I've frozen in two portions, 4tbsp for the Mary Berry orange syrup cake recipe and 1/2 pint for pancakes.
Welcome back btw, look on the bright side, at least you have all the food you need for a while without having to spend any more
Rough meal plan today:
Breakfast - yoghurt and muesli
Lunch - polpette and slice of orange syrup cake
Dinner - either a stuffed pepper or courgette risotto
Just saw someone posted a link to this recipe on the Aldi thread, not sure if it's been posted on here, I'd not seen it but it looks lovely! Definitely will make this plus I have gram flour I need to use up too:

Thanks for that link JB. It looks like it could be what I'm looking for. I've had it about 6 years, I think it's about time I used it.
When DS goes back to school tomorrow, I'm planning to take a good look at my cupboards and freezer and see what meals I can make without shopping and start from there.
I seriously need to get control of this food hoarding. My friend says she'd come to us in the event of a nuclear attack as we could all live for months at my house!!!
Anyway off to make a lunch out of the cupboard/fridge or freezer. I might be gone a while!!!!!0
