Hi Guys,
I know plenty of nice places to go in NI and Ireland but I am stumped on this one... a couple of my friends do not drive so need to go by bus or train. Any suggestions?
Thanks

are you in Belfast and want to go somewhere else in NI by train?
Just making sure I understood you right!0 -
How about Newry? If you're into shopping this is a good location and easily accessible by train and bus. I was down there for a weekend break recently and was quite surprised. I stayed in the Canal Court Hotel which is a pretty good hotel with a great restaurant. They have a spa and leisure centre, but I was a wee bit too lazy to avail of that. The night life in the city is also meant to be good.
The Canal Court have a groupon deal at the moment - £79 for one night for two plus dinner.
Other than that, how about Derry?0 -
How about Donaghadee area?.....Some good pubs,walks ect...0

Sorry! Located in Belfast. Newry is a nice idea but that is the home town so scrub that one. The other place to exclude is Dublin since it has been done too often!
Galgorm isn't easily bus accessible... what about Enniskillen? Are there are nice places there which don't need half a dozen buses to get to?

Enniskillen - Killyhevlin is on the edge of the town on the main Belfast road.
Galgorm - Express bus to B'mena then £5 taxi.
Limavady - Radisson Roe - bus from Belfast to town then small taxi ride.
Newcastle - Slieve Donard - direct bus from Belfast - Newcastle

The Belfast-Enniskillen bus driver will drop you off at the Killyhevin if you ask nicely.
On the way back, you will need to go to the bus station in Enniskillen but a taxi will cost £5 or less.

You can always take the train to Coleraine, from there you can change and travel to Portrush, Portstewart (station a bit out of the town I think) Castlerock etc.Norn Iron Club Member No. 252 :beer:0

There is no Portstewart rail station - the nearest is Dhu Varren, in Portrush.0
