As title really: seriously considering PV and would appreciate any recommendations for trustworthy and reliable suppliers.

Thanks in advance!

You can use the MCS website to search for installers local to your area.

    http://www.microgenerationcertification.org/mcs-consumer/installer-search.php

I would recommend getting as many quotes as you can and check each company's references.

Sharon, is the company you keep spamming an installation company or just a marketing company which subcontracts jobs?

If not a marketing company (and therefore of little use to the op imo who seems to want recs for a localish installation company in Surrey), then how come you install panels in Wigan as well as Surrey? And if you do pile in a van and travel 300 miles to install, then what sort of after-installation service do you offer if anything goes wrong?

Wow, that's a short lead time from ordering to installation.
You're getting it installed just in time to enjoy a few months of (hopefully) decent generation before the winter - let us know if you are pleased with it!
Oh, make sure you get your paperwork sorted and sent off immediately (I think you only have 5 days) to your FiT provider. You don't want any stress about worrying whether you have to reapply (and lose out on a few weeks of July payments).

Already submitted meter ID numbers etc on my installation paperwork... but thanks for the heads up. This company informed me I need an "impact assessment"... (included in very reasonable quote) but this has never been mention before or since.... any thoughts

I've never even heard of an impact assessment I'm afraid.

The paperwork that caused me panic was the MCS certificate. The website this gets downloaded from had problems so I missed the five day deadline. Luckily my installer gave me a cover letter to explain this and Eon agreed to accept the "zero reading" on my meter, but I had a few anxious weeks not knowing if my first few (excellent) weeks would be counted.

Hi System installed without too much hassle...
Scaffolding was all set up when I arrived home on Tuesday.
Wednesday two men arrived to fit the panels at 9 am.
Wednesday pm Electrician arrived and proceeded to fit inverter etc in garage (after some discussion about the heat in my loft space). Really neat job done all mounted on wooden board. On switching on the RCD in my main box tripped!
After some further investigation it was decided that the main box was near capacity so the switching of the inverted on and off was causing it to trip.
Electrician left to return today (Thursday) with some extra bits to complete the job.
Extra fuse box installed just for the Garage which was re routed from the main fuse box.
Webbox installed configure and left with a working system.... pity the weather is so dull was hoping to see it fly.....
Overall very happy everyone neat and tidy, no mess, friendly smiley people.
Happy to recommend Finesse Energy Ltd

Don't worry about losing out - it's 25 years from when you register with your FiT provider so if you lose the whole of July this year you'll just gain it in 25 years time at the end of the FiT.
Target of wind & watertight by Sept 2011 :D
