    Somewhat dubious article, methinks:

    "Even in London, it is still 16 per cent cheaper to buy a home on an interest-only basis than it would be to rent a comparable property."

    So if the property value goes down, I'm guaranteed to be in negative equity? Sounds like a great deal to me! And being the "owner", I'd have to pay for any repairs myself, like if the boiler went, or the windows needed replacing (both of which have happened to me in the last two years, and were paid for by the landlord).

    He's possibly already got an overdraft of about £40k and just needs the other £30k for a 20% deposit on the average house.
