BiOrb tropical 30litre - best place to buy?

Hi there,

I'm looking for a BiOrb tropical fish tank, the 30litre one or the baby 15litre one. The cheapest place I've found one is £82 on ebay (59 for the baby) - does anyone know anywhere that can beat that price please?

Thanks

angel

    Look here:

Prices depend on whether you want the coldwater or tropical versions. The tropical versions costing more due to the provision of the heater element. Also they are priced with or without the light. Then there's postage on top. There will be postage on top of your ebay find?
  • what a coincidence I was looking at these last week and after searching several sites including ebay the cheapest one I could find was seapets.co.uk. The Biorb 30 aquarium was £59.95 but delivery was free. We ended up buying the BIUBE AQUARIUM WITH HALOGEN LIGHT which is about 35l for £89.95 again free delivery.

Charterhouse Aquatics have the 30l for £59.95, free shipping on orders over £50.

I have used this company for a Biorb stand and usually buy my service kits etc from them with. Dekivery was quick and their prices are very competitive.

Incidentally if you get one I`d advise getting a light with it, Biorbs look better lit up as you can see everything inside more clearly. We have ours on a timer.

    Cheers,

    B

We got the baby biorb for £49.99 from our local garden/aquatic centre. We did have the larger one a few years back, but I prefer the 'baby' one. They look gorgeous at night, with the bubbles and lighting.
:D I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D
  • I have the 60lt one and it great. I've now got four neon tetras, four glowlight tetras, two rainbow fish, and 1 powder blue dwarf gourami.

The LED light is brilliant but expensive. £50 I think. I got mine with loads of fake coral and other stuff when I bought it off ebay.

The best tip I can give though is to join biorbforum.co.uk and post questions that you have to the newbie forum. If you're getting tropical fish you'll need to cycle your tank for the first 4-6 weeks and not have fish in it for at least two weeks. The moderators on here are extremely helpful and often give far better advice than you local fish shop. Not that they are bad for advice.

  • Once again, thank you for all your help! I think we've decided to go for the biube now.
Carl-east - thats a great tip re the forum I'll go and join. as a child we had several big tanks of tropical fish and dad used to breed them so i'm hoping he'll be able to give me hints and tips too. I wanted black mollies as they're my favourite fish but not sure about the size.....

    anyway,

    thanks again!
