HFC Bank

Hi Everyone

I wondered if you could help me re a letter I have received this morning. It is from HFC Bank re my arrears.
To put you in the picture I have a credit card debt with them of 15000. I am in arrears of £1500 and paying monthly token payments of £6. this was agreed verbally with them over the phone in the summer.
I have talked to CCCS and HFC are aware of this. I have also recently sent them my updated statement of affairs etc.

Today I have received three letters from HFC. The first is telling me that if I do not respond to the letter I was receive a Default Notice.
The second is saying that if I make a payment of £97 it will prevent the registration of my bad debt.
The third is the most frightening and is basically three lines that says it is to notify me that they will 1. Take Court Action, 2. Apply for a Court Order that my employer will deduct a regular payment from my salary, 3. Make a visit to my home.

My question is, should I make the payment of £97? Would this really make any difference to them? Would it compromise my arrangements with my other creditors?

Should I phone them? I'm worried that they will talk me into something I can't afford.

Does it vary from case to case as to the order in which they can proceed with events? ie, could they jump straight to bankrupting me or do they have to go through more stages first? Also, should I be panicking about the bailiffs arriving on christmas morning?

Any help/Advice would be gratefully appreciated as I am panicking like you wouldn't believe this morning.

Thanks so much.

Sue

Don't panic about bailiffs arriving - HFC CAN NOT send bailiffs WITHOUT a court order. If they are aware that you are dealing with CCCS then they should respect that and deal with CCCS.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
