Something to keep food while out & about

I want something to keep food as close to the proper temperature as possible and for as long as possible, well preferably 12 hours or more. I also want a new flask, does ayone have one which keeps liquids hot for more than 8 hours? Any answers appreciated.

You could buy a cooler from camping shops that plugs into your cigarette lighter. These things keep food cool about 20 degrees below ambient temperature. If its 30 degrees outside then it wouldnt be cool enough. If you want a proper camping fridge these are really good and even form ice but will set you back £135. Alternatively a cool box with 2 litre bottles of frozen water will keep for several days.

Yes. There are flasks, and there are *flasks*. Check out the Zojirushi flasks. These will keep liquids hot for longer than other flasks. For example, Zojirushi put in liquid at 100C, and is measured to be still 75C after 6 hours, and 47C after 24 hours. Would this suit your needs?

Only downside are their cost. They are not cheap, but the quality is amazing.

Btw, I have one of these going on eBay right now if you want to pick one up at a bargain price. (Hopefully not going to break any board rules by saying this?)

Thanks for responding! What should I look for "a camping fridge"?

Thanks for responding! This sounds like the type of flask I would be looking for. I looked at yours but it is 0.5 litre and I want at least a 1 litre. The 0.5 litre is available for £33.95 and the 1 litre is available for £34.95!

I'm a member of a camping forum and all say these things are great, I want one but funds wont allow at the moment.
Another good one is the Waeco Combicool. The link isnt working at the moment but if you go to www.wildday.co.uk and look for the combicool, I think its about £140. Of course it might be too big for you.
