Why?
Well, I could mention that I already have 75% of my assets in property, so have more skin in the game than just about anyone else on these boards.
Then I could go on to say that surely even you, in your most frenetic bull baiting moments, would have to concede that some level of diversification is prudent.
And I could close with the note that asking bulls why they don't buy more is like asking bears why they haven't bet their life savings on a crash with spread betting on the indices.....
But having said all that, I'm afraid to say you'll have to watch this space.
Because even though I'm risk averse, and have no desire to be a BTL landlord, the returns at the moment are just so incredibly good, and the outlook so positive, I've actually been looking at more properties lately.

Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

fair enough hamish. you did buy your second property in 2007. given that granny hamish isnt paying rent im not surprised that youre considering something more profitable. though "more profitable" is a relative term innit?HAMISH_MCTAVISH wrote: »Well, I could mention that I already have 75% of my assets in property, so have more skin in the game than just about anyone else on these boards.

Couldn't you move up to Aberdeen then he would have:
a) More profit, and
b) A long term renter (even if his granny is only 60).0
