That's excellent news!! Only one thing to look out for really, if you are a VERY heavy internet user, watch you don't fall foul of BT's Fair use policy which basically restricts your speed on certain things if you go over 40Gb per month. That said, most people who don't do heavy downloads of movies etc using torrent sites etc will be fine.
I have been able to get Fibre in my area since the early part of the year but I have decided against it for the reason of the FUP. I am on a business connection with a totally unlimited usage, no FUP, or anything. On a good month, I do 100Gb per month, on an average month, more like 250.. this is with a 6meg connection (using up to 24meg ADSL2+) I used to get about 4 before being switched to ADSL2+ but even so, I can take as much as I want each month at 6 meg, or I can use up my 40Gb allowance in 1-2 days on the fibre and spend the rest of the month on a restriction.. to me this was a no-brainer.
I don't think there is any restriction for businesses only to get the fibre broadband, it's just that the website is part of the Stormont funded project, which was driven primarily to help businesses in rural areas but as soon as a cabinet is enabled, both Business and residential customers can sign up.
The BT Infinity website is a bit behind the times it seems but the "trade only" BT wholesale checker is the definitive answer as this is the site used by broadband providers to check numbers. It's HERE:
