my mam makes the most beautiful crocheted baby hats coats booties mittens etc as a bit of a hobby, and i have convinced her to sell them, just to see what we can make from them, then, maybe if we do well, we can make it a more permanent thing. As she doesnt work (recovering from cancer) she has alot of time on her hands, so she will always be able to make these things, and she really enjoys it. she has a bit of a portfolio of things that she has already made, and they really are stunning, but i guess can also be made to order, if someone has specific requirements.

As i have never done anything like this before, i was wondering where would be the best place to sell them. i have looked on ebay, and they dont really sell for alot, so its not really worth putting them on there.

where else could we sell them, to make the most money?

any tips would be greatly appreciated xx

This isn't particularly helpful, but I was at a craft night last night and some of the ladies were complaining about how little they make from craft fairs, nobody wants to pay decent prices for their wares. So craft fairs might not be the answer.

Have you looked on Etsy? It's American but there are some British sellers. There's a British version too but I can't think of the name of it.

It may be worth trying a couple of items on ebay on BIN, have you looked at the prices that people pay for clothes for those dolls that look like babies, the ones that women collect?
Sorry I can't remember the name of the things but someone no doubt will.
I was looking for something a while back & saw that clothes targeted at that market seem to go for a lot more than baby clothes.
Crochet granny blankets seem to sell well as well, & maybe if your Mum could sell a few things then she could build up on ebay.
Do you have any decent baby shops near you that sell nice clothes, maybe they would take some stock even if it's on SOR to start with.
  • the shops that we used to sell to wont but them anymore because they are not fire tested or something :-S
