P45 and pensions

On 2nd May I finished a fixed term contract with the DWP, I was there 18 months and paid into a pension of which I'm now due a refund.
How long should I give them before chasing it up? I was first told 4 weeks then 8 weeks.
Also how long does it take for a P45 to come through?

P45s are usually issued with the pay run, but they might be a month behind IYSWIM.
Are you sure about getting a refund of pension? I didn't think that was possible.Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
I only get a refund on payments I have made, as I no longer work there I can't stay in the pension scheme x0
