Amazon - DVD prices up for xmas

I posted a few weeks ago about how I place stuff I'm buying from Amazon in my shopping basket and then use the 'save for later' option. Amazon then gives alert messages to price changes everytime I visit my in basket.
With me so far?
Well I just looked in there for the first time in a week and every single DVD I was watching has jumped in price. It looks to me like they have bumped prices up a notch for xmas. I'll not be buying anything from them now until I've seen the January prices. I suspect they may drop again.

All the books I have saved in my basket have done the same - although none of them are particularly 'Christmassy' titles.MFIT No. 810

Please check this original thread (sorry if there is a quicker way of doing this, but I don't know how!!)

So, if you have no option but to buy it, and the price lowers within 30 days, you could claim it back.... that's how I understand it anyway!0 -
They may well drop later this week when the "last order day for xmas" passes...0

Yes, noticed that too - I either add to basket and then save for later or add to my wishlist, that way I can quickly spot when the stuff I want goes down in price and grab it then (apart from the things I needed as Xmas presents obviously). Of about 10 items i am watching 9 have gone up in price - one cd (Ray Lamontagne) went up from £6.99 to £10.97 (!) although it's dropped back down to £7.49 now.. I now also put the price in the notes when adding to my wishlist and have told family not to buy stuff for me if it has gone up dramatically - either get me a gift voucher and I will wait till the price drops or get me something on the list that hasn't jumped in price!"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I have found prices on Amazon seem to vary nearly every week - but everything on my wish list has jumped in price - i will be waiting for the new year before buying anything else from them0
