Any know of any supermarket/large chain pharmacies got these on offer just now?

    There are cheaper strips available for other meters if you can't get them on prescription. The GlucoRx has quite cheap strips, the accu chek aviva nano is one of the more expensive ones.

    I don't get them on prescription - I am pre diabetic and following the advice in the book and website Diabetes 101. I will have a look at the brand you recommend, thank you

    The TRUEone is pretty reasonable too, especially online. Its the one with a built in disposable meter.

    I know this old, but just wanted to say I usually get them on ebay. Still not very cheap, but definitely better than the chemist.
