Saving money on Razor replacement blades

If you are anything like me you probably think all these Mach 3 and Mach 4 etc blade packs are a rip off, silly prices for something that doesn't last very long? Well, I remember a long time ago seeing a guy demonstrating an invention connected to these things on Dragon's Den....only caught half of it, and never heard of it since.
A few days ago I saw an ad for a product that could have been this thing so I went to look. Was a bit disappointed to see the price, and wasn't even sure of the reasons they gave for it working...but there are comments on this page which turned out to be far more useful ....have a look at the product if you like, but read the last comment from a customer below it for a much cheaper and easier way to go lol

I have one of those erazors, couldn't find it though so I tried a fairly hard rubber one instead, and a REALLY old knackered 4 blade cartridge. Worked a treat. Wish I'd not just thrown out the other used ones I had.
Cost to try it? Nothing? An erazor?
Saving? For me a small fortune.
Hope it saves you some too

Hi timmmers,
As your thread has fallen down the Old Style board I've moved it over to the health and beauty board to see if you can get some replies.

Cheers Pink. Not worried about replies really, just something that really bugs me that we all use and pay to much for that can be easily made to last a whole lot longer and be less annoying

I didn't think it would work, it's something easy to test though

I keep my girly razors in a little oil, have done for years. I don't seem to have to change them too often so it might workliving a solvent, chic and fulfilled life on a shoestring... a threadbare shoestring _pale_ :undecided :think:0
