Hi
I am looking for some help with the CSA "Variations"
My sons father lives approx 130 miles away and has access 2 days a week.
I was just wondering how much the CSA will allow for travelling expenses?
I know that they take off something of the maintenence that he should pay but i have no idea how much?
Can anyone help?
Thanks

There will be a £15 disregard in the first instance, so if it costs £50 per week for contact, the first £15 will be ignored, then the rest taken from the net income figure to reduce that by £35 per week, and the relevant % taken from that - so unless the costs are very high, it won't make a huge difference at all.0

As always - thanks for your help!0

I don't think that the OP needs to justify themselves - this is their own situation - they may have the times laid down by a court - there may be issues with the NRP that the OP hasn't mentioned. It is the case that the NRP lives a long way , so it isn't really feasible for the NRP to see their child more often.0

Kelloggs, your only assuming just like the rest of us, you are actually making a story for the op.
Wether the op has times laid down by the court, it is irrelevant to why children can not have equal access to both their parents if they want to and it is feasible for both parents. .
If parents divorce and both want to be apart of their children's life, it should be equal, I would hate someone to tell me i can only see my children once a week/month and then move to the other end of the globe, too much empathize on the money and not enough on what the children would really want.0 -
The reason he has access 2 days a week is that yes he works 130 miles away and he works split shifts the other 5 days (7am - 2pm then 5pm - 10pm)
I was only asking the question !!! to how much the CSA "allow" for expenses. We both get on really well and have never disputed anything and i have always allowed him to see his son regardless what day it is.
I'm slightly offended that i have had to justify why i need to ask questions like this.
If he appeared at my house at 8am tomorrow morning i would never think about telling him to p*** off as it wasnt his scheduled day.

You don't have to justify yourself.0

some people are too quick to judge. they class us PWCs as only concerned with money and that we use the kids as ways to get more money off NRPs.
the reasons this agreement is in place shouldnt have been brought into question coz its irrelevant.Countdown to Discharge Is On!
