accomodation in Lanzarote

Thinking of booking a half term holiday to canary islands. see that Air lingus stop flights on 29th Oct to Gran Canaria but still operate to lanzarote.
Was wondering if anyone had any advice on flights and good accommodation that wont break the bank.
Never been before so resort advice would be helpful,and if there are any theme or water parks nearby. It would need to be somewhere that isnt far from the airport as we will probably as a family be coming and going at different times to suit work leave.
Thanks, am really nervous as i haven't booked or gone on holiday for a long time

Puerto del Carmen is just 15 minutes from the airport (15 Euro in a taxi)

Have looked at Atlantis Las Lomas Apartments,Puerto del Carmen
have you or anyone any experience of these and booking through sunshine.co.uk

We were in Lanarote (Puerto del Carmen) in April and got the best deal through Alpha Rooms, accomodation was La Florida Apartments SC - basic but fine (got what we paid for). Apartments were 15-20 mins from airport in taxi, approx 12euros
