I have an attachment for my epson scanner that does it. As I am an artist, I needed to scan in slides to put into powerpoint presentations etc. You can scan at 1600dpi and select the kind of scan you want. Had my scanner 3 or 4 years though.0

We have Epson 1640 - well out of date at 5years old - the slide scanner attachment is not what 'high professionals' want. A 'proper' scan would be at 3000 dpi and scanner that jessops have would be dedicated machine with proper optics for slide scanning.
This from slide of painting 6ft x 4ft - then slide scanned at 1600 dpi and then made into jpeg for these purposes(to make it small enough for this kind of posting)

I had a lot of 35mm slides. Purchased one of these about 3years ago and it did the job for me. http://www.dreamdirect.co.uk/prodview.asp?SKU=21822&CA=36&SC=258&MCA=&GUID={E9A7E407-D2E7-4C14-A874-44F711B302DA}&MC=X01503&TRK=260

Or a dedicated slide/transparency scanner if you have loads. Something like http://www.pricegrabber.co.uk/search_getprod.php/masterid=24689072// - may be cheaper lower resolution ones around (sure Jessops used to sell one).0

Where are you in the UK?
I am in North wales and I have a dedicated 35mm film /slide scanner that I no longer have a use for - it's yours if you want to collect it.
It is a Benq (AKA Acer) Scanwit SCSI scanner - comes with a SCSI interface card as well, plus the instructions and it is boxed.
I will need to dig it out and make sure it is all there but I am pretty sure it is complete.
I got it from Jessop's a few years ago, it was a couple of hundred quid then and it produces good results if you get the settings all sorted out.
I started to get my negs scanned in when I got them developed at the lab so I only really used it a few times, Then it got boxed and put in the loft.
If you want it I would only ask you give a donation to a charity of your choice to a level you can afford.Signature No Longer acceptable -
