Support with income

Options
Hi, my first post on the site
I was just wondering if anyone could give me some advice on my situation at the moment
I cut my hours down at work back in February to go onto a full-time course I wanted to do, iv now finished that and unfortunately I'm on the sick from my work, I currently work 12.5 hours a week which is on a weekend and I get time and 1/3 Saturday and time and 2/3 on Sunday, I'm obviously losing out on my enhancements because im on the sick
I am on the sick as I'm waiting to go in for an operation to remove a disc from my back so il be off for about 3 months
My pay from work I am entitled to 8 weeks full pay and 4 weeks half pay

I just wondered with me only on 12.5 hours and now on the sick ammo entitled to any financial support as even with my partner working full time we are struggling because of the debts we have and we could do with a little more cash which I'd normally get through enhancements

Thanks for any replies

the best way to increase money is to reduce spend.

you say you workED 12 hours a week. based on minimum wage thats under £100 after tax. you would be very surprised at how much you do spend.

imagine your £6 a hour (£4 after tax) being your savings target. find 12 hours of savings basically.

takeaway meals cost people ATLEAST an hours wage per person. so if you have a take away once a week that equivelent to 2-3 hours of wages.

your weekly shop replace the branded cereals for own branded. get rid of the branded tins of baked beans and buy own branded and you can save another 2-3 hours of equivelent wages.

just that alone has gained you 4-6 hours of wages without actually working more.

then look at your sky bill and mobile phone bill.. do you really watch all the channels you have subscribed to and do you always use up the free minutes-texts on your call plans.

i went from £35 a month mobile monthly bill to a £5 a month bill as i use that £5 as a unlimited text bolt on/booster and calls to same network are free anyways. so thats £30 a month. breaking down as nearly 2 hours a week in equivelent wages.

by being on your back.. well probably in actual fact on tummy/side for several weeks your petrol bill will decrease as you dont leave the house as much.

being on pain killers will mean less bottles of alcohol you'll be consuming. so thats another hours wage per bottle you would have bought before.

so dont be looking for get me rich schemes while ur bed ridden for 8 weeks. instead sit down and work out current spend as with you being bed ridden and signed off sick. technically you shouldnt be working.

once you minimised out goings. the pressure will not only be off ur back lol but off ur shoulders too. so then look at doing the online surveys for cash, and all the other options mentioned on these forums.

and try to deem this cash as not a income to spend willy-nilly, but as a rainyday fund.

being on your back for 8 weeks means you wont be going out shopping for clothes and beauty products as you will mostly be sat at home in your PJ's so you will soon notice that trying to earn more cash is not that important.

good luck with the op and enjoy the weekends off, treat this time as a long needed holiday. hope you find 12 hours of savings on your families weekly spend. then any sick money you have is a bonus along with survey income and other online-home money making ideas
