Getting DH 'prepped' for BR

We are just starting to get the ball rolling with DHs BR....changing DDs and wages to my account, and closing one of his accounts as its £17.50 a month for services we get with yorkshire anyway, so going to leave that open for now.
Having gone through this myself in oct 2009 i know mostly what needs doing...the only problem being DH is off work at present with depression, and is unable to deal with things himself, do CAB coe out to see people????
We have to stop payments as of now to credit cards and loan....DH is a big worrier, and its going to be harder for him, and for me to sort things than when i went BR.
Also i only had 2-3 months of hassles from companies, wereas its going to take months for us to save the now £700...i dont think he will hack it at all:(

Sometimes they do. They can do stuff over the phone, too. Have you tried CCCS or Payplan?

    Good luck!

They may be willing to talk to you on the phone if hubby is able at least to give his verbal permission to them over the phone, then hand it to you.

It seems the closer to the end of the tax year someone goes BR, the less likely there is time to implement the nil tax code. However, just bear in mind that a nil tax code isn't paying any money that wouldn't have been paid anyway!

With your DH present condition I would not be worrying about the Nil tax code that would be implemented. Just think of his health and try and get it through it as quickly as you can for both of you. Hopefully things will work out for quicker than you expect :)

Only wondering as in the past i have heard that you have to send your money which would have been for tax to some company, and just didnt want DH to have the hassle.....it wasnt that we didnt want to pay nil.
    thanks again tax lol

It's easy enough as you just wait for information on the amounts to pay over and then set up a standing order to go out each month.

It's really not a problem so please don't worry yourself about that aspect.
