What is a must to take to a festival?

DD is going to a music festival in Serbia, camping for 4 days with friends. Someone else is bringing the tent etc. but she's not sure of the shower facillities, on top of that she is only flying with 10 kg hand luggage. Any ideas what is most important to bring to keep clean and fresh and healthy? I thought...
insect repellent
deo/baby/face wipes
sunblock
dry shampoo (not sure what to do here as I don't think she can carry aerosol cans in hand luggage)
chapstick
toothbrush/mini toothpaste
loo paper

No buying unnecessary toiletries 2014. Epiphany on 4/4/14 - went into shop to buy 2 items, walked out with 17!

You can take aerosols in hand luggage but they must be under 100ml, Batiste do mini dry shampoos but don't think they'd be much use at a festival, you'd run out in one day.
I wouldn't bother with baby/face wipes, I'd take baby wipes and nothing else, they can be used for taking make up off, cleaning hands etc.
I'd recommend some sort of hand sanitiser too. Tell her to take a hat of some sort aswell, if its sunny it'l keep the sun off her head and after 3 days will hide the greasy hair
Wellies are a great option too, keep your feet dry if it rains and your legs clean of any muck if you're sitting on the ground. The frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0 -
To be honest the last festival I went to I think I literally just took my hair brush, baby wipes to have a bit of a 'wash' with, loo roll, snacky food and several changes of clothes....
I think most people tend to rough it at festivals, I think some of the lads in my group literally took only beer, not even a change of clothes for the entire weekendMFW 2020 #111 Offset Balance £69,394.80/ £69,595.11

How much fluids can you take in hand luggage? Is it only 100ml? Is that per thing, or in total? No aerosols allowed in hand luggage either. May be very tricky going hand luggage only. Unless of course you buy everything in duty free!
Bin bags at festival are a must to keep everything dry. Does she have a tent? That won't fit in hand luggage will it? Or is she in accomodation?
I would say don't take jeans, leggings, shorts, lightweight trousers.etc Get a torch as well.
I had a festival thread on here I'll dig it up....0 -

*digs out festival list* Personally...
Loo roll
Baby wipes (don't need all the different types of wipe, these do the job of all)
Deodorant
Hairbrush
Hat or bandana (for keeping sun off and hiding minging hair)
Toothbrush and paste
Sunscreen
Insect repellent if they bother you
Chapstick
Rain jacket/waterproof
Bin/carrier bags
Contraception (even if she's single, you never know!)
I don't get on with dry shampoo but have in the past taken a mini of normal shampoo and washed my hair in a bucket filled from the free water taps. Cold, but effective enough. With it being abroad I presume they are going to buy all their food and drink from a local shop when they get there or at the festival.
I wouldn't worry about her staying very clean the whole time, showering properly every day and things. Being a bit skanky for a few days is all part of the fun!
I believe it is 100ml total liquids in hand luggage, no aerosols. Find out what she could buy once there, if there is a supermarket near or a shop on site for instance. It may be less MSE but might be more practical on this occasion.0 -

Many thanks for your suggestions - I was planning to put together a little kit with the essentials to make sure she doesn't forget and put it in her luggage for her...
chapstick with spf (she gets cold sores if she gets too much sun)
few paracetamol
mini sunblock
mini toothpaste/disposable toothbrush
babywipes
mini bottle of that shower/shampoo cleans all stuff
condoms
tissues
mini deodorant
insect repellent
water purifier
few plasters for new sandals
hand sanitiser (I personally use this to squirt on dodgey loo seats too - a quick wipe around with a tissue for a cleaner toilet seat)
My dyno torch
microfibre towel
details of UK embassy in Serbia, ph no. etc
If I can fit all that into a small washbag and convince her to take it I'll be doing well. I skipped the raincoats, wellies etc as it's Serbia, it's supposed to be very hot and if it rains it'll be just like a lukewarm shower where you are dry half an hour later.
From what I understand the festival is in the middle of nowhere - though food is available there - thankfully she's meeting up with friends there who are bringing tents and bedding.
Someone suggested using baby powder as a dry shampoo, but I'm not sure that would work, she has jet black hair, think carrying a bit of shampoo is probably best bet - she can just wash under a tap if she's desperate as CupofChai suggested.
Actually have 2 daughters going - 1 flying there and back, the other decided to save money and drive back with bf and 6 other boys. After a 4 day festival she is suddenly realising maybe it's not going to be so pleasant an experience

When I last went on a plane, you had to have liquids under 100ml but no more than 1 litre in total
