I still can't do it. It's not question 12 that's got me tricked. I had trouble with this last time and ended up cancelling the job because I checked and checked the briefing notes and still couldn't pass the test.
Question 4 is the 3rd answer. Does that help? If not, I'll PM you.

Hi Deb. Why don't you try at lunch time? They always have some offers on then.

Thanks, I will do that. Gives me all afternoon to eat it then as well ;)

Ooh, I've booked my first mystery shopping job! Bit excited, but really, more nervous than anything. Any words of wisdom?

Without naming the client, what sort of job is it? My first one was a bank, and my heart was thumping like anything, but it was really easy to do. My third one was a fast food chicken place, and that was a bit of a nightmare!

I always read through the briefings and questions, and make myself notes of the most important things to look out for on a sheet of paper. I find it sticks in my mind better than printing it, and saves paper and ink.

It's a bed shop. There's a telephone call first, and then a visit where I have to ask two questions; one of which they've given me, and another I make up myself. Hopefully going to do it on Thursday when I'm off work. Might make my sister wait nearby (outside of the shop) for moral support! Thanks for the tip about writing it down, I also feel better when I've written rather than typed something.

I had the same problem last week. I emailed them stating that i had problems and they phoned me with the answers. He was totally understanding and friendly.
  • Hey guys, sorry to but in here but I do mystery shopping every now and then (though in fact more so in the past, haven't done a job for a long while really) and have a question regarding a job I have tomorrow.

Basically, is there any point in trying to get RE to consider making the reimbursement rate higher? As on reviewing the menu of the place I am visiting I realise that there is no way the amount they have offered is going to cover the cost of the food/drink they want me to order. There is also no fee, just the inadequate reimbursement. I am considering cancelling but wondering if there's any way they may review the terms. Anyone ever had success with this at all or am I pushing my luck? Thanks x

I don't take these ones that don't cover the cost. You'll know next time! Sometimes they do have 2 meals for 1 or a fixed menu which is cheaper though.

You might as well give them a buzz and try your luck, just in case it's at the end of the dates it needs to be visited, or a location they find hard to find a shopper for, etc, but to be honest, I think you would have to be extremely lucky for them to say Yes. Nothing to lose from asking though hey!

Chances are if you cancel it then someone else would be more than happy to snap it up being satisfied with getting a cheap meal. Like Serendipity said, make sure you think it through more or check out costs etc before accepting jobs in future.
