Engagement Ring < £400

Hi all,
I am looking for an engagement ring, I've had a look online and the high street stores but thought it would be worth asking if anyone could recommend a jewellers where I could find an engagement ring for under £400.
I'm based in Birmingham and willing to travel to find the right one (within reason!).
If anyone has any suggestions then I would be very grateful.
Many thanks!

You might be better posting this on the weddings forum so as to get as many responses as possible.0

If I had my time again, I would buy from an auction- you get more bling for your bucks!
I like a lot of the older style rings and the auction house are obiliged to ensure that what they sell you is correct- if they say it is 18ct gold then it should be.
Our local auction house has viewings the day before and then they have the online option (which not all auction houses provide), so I can bid online and listen to a live feed of the auction.
I have bought some very nice jewellery this way, for very low prices. Good luck and congratulations!0 -
Thanks all, and sorry for the late reply I have been on holiday!
I think the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter is a great idea I would never have even thought of it - this is pretty much the first time I have brought jewellery, at this sort of price anyway!
I was hoping to have it before we went on a weekend break to Italy, so I could pop the question there, but finances are tough so will have to drag it out until Christmas time I think so I have chance to save up!
I guess it gives me a little more time to shop around too.
Thanks again all
