Hi folks
What's the easiest/cheapest/quickest way to obtain the title deeds for your property?
We're looking to put up a fence but want to check the boundary line first.
Many thanks!

Would your Solicitor who carried out the conveyancing for the property have a copy on their file or have you tried your mortgage company (if you have one) who probably have the originals. If there is existing fencing would that not also give an indication of the boundary line? You could also give the Land Registry Office / Registry of Deeds in Belfast a call.0

At the minute there's no fence, just some very overgrown bushes, about 2ft wide, so not sure where the boundary lies.
We bought the house in Dec last year so wasn't sure if the solicitor would still have any copies of the deeds or how easy it would be to get a copy off the bank. It seems folks from the mainland can get copies of deeds for like £6 but when I looked on the NI site, it appeared to be £30, which doesn't sound right!
I'll try our solicitor first and see what they say, thanks for the help!0 -
Have you done a search in Land Registry? If your property is registered you can view and/or order a copy of the deeds - and a copy map too. The fees are listed in the attached link. The staff are very helpful so don't be put off!
