the christmas tree smell with an artifical tree

Burn a Yankee candle - Mistletoe - for that real Christmas tree smell when you only have an artifical one. Was really lucky today and managed to get 4 Yankee tarts in Mistletow at 21p each at a local garden cebtre

I thought this post would be asking for a Christmas tree smell and was gonna recommend the Mistletoe Yankee candle! My DH brought me back a candle jar a couple of weeks ago, have been burning it ever since. If you like the smell of fresh washing then cleaned cotton is fab too.

  • :xmastree:Hi all where can you get these from as I've never heard of them, my son does'nt like my artifical trees as he says it's just not the same smell, and there's nothing like that smell of pine on a christmas morning, so unless I get something he's saying he'll forbid me to put them up next year as he say's they don't smell like christmas. so please let me know where I may buy some as christmas could be cancelled next year. thanks all.

Yankee candles are some of the best smelling candles around https://www.yankeecandle.co.uk, My wife used to work in a shop in Belgium that sold them, and since we moved back to the UK online is the place to get them.

they have many christmassmeling candles which are all fantastic, mulled wine is nice too

Try your local garden centre that has a gift section, Wyevale garden centres stock them or any candle shop.

You sit the tarts on the top of a burner with an ordinary tealight underneath, which melts the wax in the tart and releases the smell
If you look through this thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=315724&highlight=scented+candlesyou should find plenty info!

Our local Coop has now started stocking a huge range of these candles, so you could try there.

Sometimes you can find Yankee candles at TKMaxx

  • I have Yankee candles which I burn in the hall (the six small Christmas selection ones), but I use pine essential oil (Holland & Barrett) in my electric burner and it makes the room where the tree is smell very Christmassy. It can also be dripped onto a radiator or lamp bulb for the same effect. Now I have a lovely fibre optic tree, with the real tree smell, and no pine needles to sweep up!
