nail varnish on discoloured toe

I have a similar problem with the second toe nail on each foot, probably because those toes are longer than my big toes and so are against the front of shoes all the time.
I bought this (I think from Home Bargains for £1 or so, NOT £10.20!)

It seems to have worked well - I can go without varnish now but also use it as a basecoat for coloured varnish.
Well, I will look out for this too - dont quite understand how it works though - maybe I will experiment with a little bit of filing but I think the discolouration goes right thru. but maybe not, Bronnie's chiropodist files the nail down so perhaps this is an answer. What exactly does it seem to do to the discolouration just whiten it?0 -
