Plus one invite wording

Hello everyone
The time has come for us to now send out our evening invites. I have quite a lot of friends who are single and I'd love to have them all bring a guest with them. I've heard that to write 'and guest' is not appropriate so was wondering what everyone else is doing or suggestions, thanks

We wrote 'and guest'. I think its better than plus one, and makes it clear that they can bring someone, even if it's not a date. I went to a wedding recently in Sydney, and since my partner couldn't make it my friend came instead.0

Ive never heard before that its not appropriate to say guest. I wouldnt be offended if I received that. Have to say though that if any of my guests aren't in a relationship they will be getting invited on their todd!!0

and we will never, ever return.0 -
We put 'and guest', don't think there's anything wrong with it!0

We had a small wedding, so knew everyone who was there.....I have never heard of "plus one" being inappropriate, but personally I would put "and guest".0

I used 'and guest' (felt it was a bit less business like than +1) - nobody made comment & I've never heard it was inappropriate...
Only problem might be if you use 'and guest' and they've been with a partner for a long time... I had a couple of people that I discretely checked before hand as they were in on/off long term relationships and I wasn't sure if they would prefer 'and guest' or their 'on/off's name.0
