anyone bought the PS3 from USA?

hi, the pq for blu ray is supposed to be much better at 24fps ie: when playing usa blu ray discs on the usa ps3 console!
so i am thinking of getting one from the usa and only buying usa coded blu rasy disc's (ebay!)
if you have bought a usa one how much did you pay?
how did you get it back to the usa?
has there been any problems with it?

thanks:beer:

I would not bother buying bluray discs off ebay as if it's anything like HD DVD's people are mugs and paying more for them on ebay rather than purchasing them from online retailers at a cheaper price.

Might be a case of people getting carried away with the auction but stick to places like https://www.playusa.com and https://www.dvdworldusa.com and their are probably other companies that sell them for a decent price
  • I'm thinking of doing this next year when i visit the US.

Just wondering whether or not I will be able to get around paying import tax...

People say its a 'random' thing whether your item gets stopped at the airport.
But due to the size of the ps3 I'm thinking that i will most likely be stopped and asked to pay.
I don't think marking it as a gift would help either.

Does anyone know any more about importing this kind of thing? I'm talking personally bringing back the item, not shipping it.

Never been to the USA before but you are allowed a certain amounts worth of goods to be brought back before they can charge any customs on it, I would prefer to carry the PS3 in my hand luggage (depending on size) as your cases get knocked and banged and you don't want to realise when you get off the plane that it's broke
