It depends what you buy. If you post a shopping list I'm sure people will help you out. I find the fruit and veg (super 6) is much cheaper and v good quality. HTH.
Skint but happy with my lovely family

I find some things, especially fruit & veg and tinned things are quite a bit cheaper at Aldi and just as good as other supermarkets. The only problem I find is that they don't have as wide a range of things. Definitely worth going though.Mortgage free Jan 2012

Fruit, veg, tins, bread, cooked meats, cheese and milk are all cheaper.
Toothpaste is one of the few aldi things I don't like - but I get from £land instead.People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

My answers in green. Sorry I can't tell you the price on the bits I've left out, but I can't remember the price. I find Aldi very good, and do the majority of my grocery shopping there. There are some fajita kits on offer at the moment, as whatever's been on offer a couple of weeks ago still tend to be there.
I reckon my grocery bill has more or less halved since I started shopping there, and as it's closer, I save money on petrol too. The other good thing is that as it's a smaller store, you don't get so tempted to put "extras" in the trolley. Don't forget a £1 coin for the trolley, and bring your own bags. They only accept cash or debit cards.
Oh, and in case anyone's interested in wine, their £2.99/bottle of white or rose Baron wine is lovely :TCall me what you like, I was a bit "tiddly" when I chose my username

Hi howdidthishappen,
Now that you've had some input from the Old Stylers I've moved your thread over to the Food shopping board where you should get more advice.
I wish I could help, but unfortunately we don't have aldi.

I love Aldi's
. bread/cobs
. cooked meat
. fresh soups
. cereals and cereal bars
. sweets
. low fat spread
. yoghurts - esp the fromage frais 4 pack and the soft fruits 6 pack.
. fruit (buy the veg loose at work as I don't go through 1kg of carrots in a week)
the milk is hit/miss at the store near me. Sometimes, there is loads and other times, just semi skimmed 4 pints. I only have skimmed.0
