I know! I'm all for a bargain, but these really aren't value for money unfortunately. The last one I changed left him all sweaty round the bum and leg where the plastic bit is.
They work out at 6p each, whereas the Pampers size 4 are nearly 14p each.
DS gets through 4 to 6 pampers a day (84p), but 7 to 9 of the cheaper ones (54p), so although still cheaper, if I factor in the extra washing of wet vests and trousers, and the hassle of having to change him, I'd rather have the more expensive ones!
Might give the Sainsburys own ones a try (not the basics one), but they're not much cheaper than huggies, which I also find OK. I've also tried the ASDA angels ones, which were fine, although a little bulky.
Oh, another positive for the basics nappies is that they're not too bulky either.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

So do they still have the plasticy covering on them?0 -
i've never tried value ones. well years ago i bought some to line hanging baskets ( fantastic for this, lol) but morrisons used to do a range of nappies in apink wrapper i think. thery were so cheap i used them with my 1st dd after my mum picked them up by mistake and they were fab.
i generally only use home brands ie tesco, sainsbury, lidl or morrisons. as i've only ever had problems with pampers or huggies. My children sleep a good 12 hours at night, but pampers or huggies never lasted the night like own store brands. Pampurs would leave granuals everywhere and explode and huggies gave my kids a rash. i appreciate they might be better used for only a few hours at a time, but with 3 good sleeping babies so far, they need a nappy i know i can trust to last them the night.
With this baby i'll stick with what i know, but might try the value ones as recommended when baby is older.0 -

Yup! I could make my own with a supermarket plastic bag and a wodge of toilet roll.Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')

Can you upload a pic, might be helpful to others, I have some pics of the morrisons ones to upload if anyone wants to see them compared next to a huggies and a pampers?
I'd be interested to see the morrisons value ones. We currently use sainsbury own brand at night as we've not found a reusable that holds our kids wee (seriously they're incredibly heavy wetters!) that isn't ginormous.
Not that keen on sainsbury own brand as there's minimal stretch compared to super stretchy pampers and being on all night with a fidgety baby, we need something that is going to stay in place."I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
My youngest came out of night time nappies early last week, so now we are done. But after 4.5 years I still can't resist looking at a nappy thread to see if i'm missing anything!0

I wouldn't recommend them for night time use although if your baby is out wee-ing a disposable you could try changing to a pampers just for night times of if those are getting out wee'd have a look at cloth nappies designed for night time use.
A company called holdens landing do a one called bedbug http://www.babybots.co.uk/holdenb.htm they are pricey but have a phenominal resale value
Wee notions do a night nappy and custom embroider them - again with a hefty resale value
have a look at this info

We're on baby number 2 with reusables and to be honest, all the night time ones that are extra absorbant (or boosted to the max) are just too huge.
The sainsbury ones last the night but would prefer some more security to stop it coming loose. We'll keep using them but interested to see what the morrisons one are like as if they are similar then I'll get a pack next time we need some more. I like a bargain!"I've fallen down a hole" - said in best Monty Python voice-over.0 -
You have a weeble too? My son has gone to bed looking like a giant orange with arms and legs. This could be interesting when he starts walking.
I am saving up for a bedbugs one though, they are meant to be the best one's out there.0
