Shoe Dilemma!

Long story and rambling, but ladies I need your help!!!
I am being a bridesmaid in a week, brought some shoes to try on with my dress but was basically told that I am too tall for the dress and need to wear flats. At first I was fine with this but now worried that if anyone catches a glimpse of my shoes I will feel a bit silly.
The dress has been turned up about half an inch to match the underskirt bit but she did this when I was barefoot, I'm having another fitting on the wednesday next week and the wedding is the Friday.
In a mad panic I brought some flip flop style shoes from debenhams but I would prefer some sandals.
They need to be silver and all the nice shoes I seem to be finding are gold, its driving me crazy!!!
To make things more complicated I'm a size 8 so trying to find shoes online is even more of a nightmare. I was tempted to buy a pair with a one inch heel but I don't think the shop owners will approve.
Does anyone have any suggestions?!

Have you looked in Next? My bm's bought silver jewelled sandals with little kitten heels but think they had flat ones too.0

Costs I'm thinking cheap!! Doubt I will wear a silver sandal again, sadly all the ones I like from Next are not available in an 8

butterfly I can't see you links! With Evans do you know what a size such as 8d is? I have a slim foot and don't need wide shoes
and I'd quite like a sandal with a back moreso than a flip flop0 -
Could you find some that you really like and spray paint them silver? Would be pretty easy to do as long as you have rubber gloves, newspaper and plenty of ventilation! You could even get more spray paint in a different colour so that you can wear them again!

If you're only going to wear them once have a look in Primark and Matalan, they have lots of summer sandals in atm in different colours.
Out of interest, was it the bride or the shop that said you were too tall? If it was the shop and the bride is happy for you to wear a heel, just wear them. I bought two shop bought dresses for my bridesmaids when I got married, one was quite tall and the other petite so the dresses fell to diff lengths on them, but you know what? I wasn't in the least bit bothered, they both wore shoes with a small heel and looked beautiful.Feb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

It was the shop owner. I'm only 5 10!!!
Think I might get a small kitten heel - if I can find one, and just wear them. All the other bridesmaids and the bride are really fancy spray tan, white teeth sort of girls when I'm not so I want to try and "fit in" as silly as that sounds and I would just feel a bit odd in flip flops against a lovely dress0 -

:rotfl::rotfl:your post made me smile. I am guessing that since you are bridemaid, you are close to the bride. Have a chat with her if you feel like you need to - and if you're going to be happy in a kitten heel, go with that - you'll be wearing the dress for the day and you want to be able to focus on helping the bride so don't want to feel uncomfortable all day. And in all honesty, no one will be checking hemlines as all eyes will be on the bride.
Enjoy the wedding

True, I can't believe I'm getting so hyped up about a pair of damn shoes??! Weddings eh?0

So hang on, the shop didn't think to allow for your shoes when altering the the hem, and now they're being mardy with you about what footwear you have?
Surely it's their fault it's too short & they shoud either try to adjust it or just leave you to wear the shoes YOU want!0
