Real or fake?, Value or luxury?! ....xmas trees

As we are on our debtbusting mission over xmas, we (or I really) decided that instead of our luxury big real xmas tree (costing £40ish) we would go for a much cheaper one. I decided that we would really go cheap and buy a 3ft value tesco tree for £2.97 this year but last night I couldn't bring myself to buy it so settled on a cheap 6ft fake one from tesco for £9.44. Hey we will be able to use it year after year too! I really miss our real one and now feel sure we could have bought a real cheap one for the same price but never mind it's up the decs and lights are on and .............it's nearly xmas!:xmastree:

What has everyone else got?

I'm ashamed to say that I spent £25 on a real one :o It's in a pot though so I'm going to plant it in the garden in January.

  • haven't put up a tree now for a couple of years, and to be honest I can't say I've missed the hassle either!

Instead we go for candles all around the living room......kind of romantic to cuddle up to as well.

My 4ft artificial tree is up for the 15th year running!! It is starting to look a little tatty though.

DS wants a big tree now he's old enough to have a look in ;) and I nearly caved into the offer in S'burys of a 6ft one for £15. Hmm...consdering it and could then use that for the next 15 years!

We always had a real tree when I was younger..but the hoovering of the needles and disposing of it afterwards was a right pain. Much easier to put back in box and into the loft until next time!

I bought the little 3ft Tesco Value tree and I was amazed at the quality of it, given how little it cost. I thought it would be a bit, well, scrawny, but it's a lovely little thing. Very pleased with it :)
I was cut out to be rich, but got sewn up wrong.

I bought one from Woollies about 12 years ago. It cost me £2.99 and is still going strong. A bargain!

  • I have a 3ft potted real affair which hopefully will be kept alive for next christmas thanks to my mummy! My christmas will always be real, I like the piney smell too much and this outweighs hoovering up the needles

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

I love the candles idea and if we didn't have kids we would do that too!
