3x pairs of cords shrank

Options
hiya,

I hate buying clothes, so when I saw some cords that i liked, I got 3 pairs.
Now they've all shrunk (length ways) in my brand new washing machine (that I wash with at 30 oC...All othe clothes are fine.

I got the cords over 2 months ago.Can I take them back if I have receipt?

cheers,

yogi

  • I would certainly give it a try. It seems reasonable to me that you would have worn them and saved them up in the laundry basket so that you could wash all 3 pairs together - I assume this is what happened?
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

    hiya,

no, I just wash them whenever, not always together.I think it's the fact that they've been shrinking a wee bit with every wash, or that's the way it seems..
And no, it's not because I'm putting on weight :-)

I would definitely take them back to the shop. Cords do quite often shrink a little length and width ways at high wash temperatures and in the dryer
  • i am a drycleaner, not after businees just giving advice, when a garment is made most garments are tested to prove that they can be washed , dry cleaned or tumble dryed etc, some may be one or 2 or all 3. Because of finance today , hardly anything is tested by even all the major high strret stores, with designer labels probably the worst. I would return them to the place of purchase , explaining that you have washed them on a 30 wash and they have shrank, they will probably replace or refund them. if not ask for the test report European law ISO 3175 or 3075.
When they say they are washable how did you dry them ?

  • hiya,

I just hang them on a clothes horse, nothing fancy.

  • Ok, just return to place of purchase, and let us know how you get on.
