help wanted. unsure about win.

basically i have only recently starting comping on here so pretty new to this but i have entered loads so not completely sure what comps i have entered altogether.
basically earlier today i had a missed call from a number so i rung it back and the answer phone said it was from someone called naz from london city studios. finally got hold of her after about 40 mins of trying and she said that i had won tickets for a makeover and photo shoot in london and i can take some people with me if i wish as there were 4 tickets available.

i got all exited but then came the terms and conditions, basically you have to pay a deposit of £39.00 per ticket which is refundable on the day just to show that you will turn up. does this sound dodjy or has anyone else done this before? really gutted now as i got so exited lol. hope someone can help. thanks in advance

Sounds like a scam to me, sorry, hopefully you'll have a proper win soon.

Personally I think it is a sales exercise & not a win.I'd walk away from it & forget about it.

OH I've seen this on here before I think? I think some people went and enjoyed it but personally, I wouldn't recommend. I don't think it's really a win. Some people had trouble getting the deposit back, others didn't and some went and got it all free, others were pressured into buying photos and others bought photos because they wanted to Hope that helps a litte?

I received the same telephone call from them ages before I started comping. I looked them up online and it's a scam...they pressure you in to buying pictures, which are really expensive. I knew I *hadn't* won anything because I hadn't entered any competitions (oh how times have changed).

thanks for everyones advice much appreciated but i definetely think its a scam or like everyone is saying they'd pressure me into buying photos and i'd end up completely regretting going so im just going to forget about it. hopefully i'll have a win soon good luck to all you compers thanks again :beer:

ah this happened to me when I first started. My husband is a photographer and we do make overs but never ever charge until pictures are seen and purchased. We also charge about a million pounds less then they do lol

You will get a fab win along soon.
