Hello,
can anyone point me in the right direction on defaults on credit file. Just checked my credit file have a default from T-mobile who closed my account after I was late with payment (when made redundant) Is there anyway I can now approach them and get it settled/ removed.
Also another default from OUSBA (open uni) for £216 again late in payment when made redundant in 2003.
many thanks Paul x

You cannot have a Default removed from your file.
Each default will stay on your CRF for six years, after which time it will "fall off"0 -
Unless it was put on there incorrectly, which doesn't appear to be the case here.sandralovescats wrote:You cannot have a Default removed from your file.

Are they marked as satisfied/settled or something like that? about the best you can hope for until they drop off...0

After discharge from bankruptcy it is said that you should check your CRF to make sure that the default is marked as settled/satisfied.
Other than that it would seem that you are stuck with it, since it wasn't put there by mistake.0 -
If the amounts have been paid, it should be marked as settled/satisfied. Same as after discharge in bankruptcy.

Well the T- mobile default says current balance £100 and date of default 10 nov 2005 this is defenately wrong date as I was made redundant july 2003 when it happened so could I maybe write to T- mobile as I didnt get much of a chance to settle my account before the £100 contract breaking fee was slapped on.
Open uni default says satisfied (cant believe ive screwed my credit rating for 6 years over a £216! it was just a complete oversight as I was moving house post went to previous address ) is there any way If i cant get it removed I can improve it? this is dated as july 2003 which is correct.
many thanks for your help guys.0 -
As long as it's marked as satisfied, I don't think you can do anything else.matched betting: £879.63

You can write a notice of correction which will be added to your file & can be seen by anyone doing a search of your file. This is basically a brief explanation by you of why certain information is recorded on your file.paulr8794 wrote:is there any way If i cant get it removed I can improve it? this is dated as july 2003 which is correct.
