Hi,
I'm looking at an 'Unpaid Fare Notice'.
So, it's not a fine as such.
It was issued on 29th May, as I had no ticket, and I was given 10 days to pay it.
Stupidly, I put it off.
Anyway, I emailed them through their website - https://www.ircas.co.uk on the tenth day (8th June), asking them if I could have a little longer to pay it (this coming Friday 17th June).
Strangely though, I've heard nothing back from them.
It's only £9.50, and I wish I'd paid the flippin' thing two weeks back!
On the 'Unpaid Fare Notice', it states "..where no correspondence or payment is received within 10 days, raise an additional charge of £20.00".
So, I'm just hoping that as I emailed them, they'll only charge me £9.50, as opposed to £29.50
Does anyone on here have any experience of this?
Worst case scenario, I'll pay them the £29.50 this Friday, but obviously I'd rather just pay the £9.50!
Cheers,
Sim.
PS - This is cringeworthy, as it was the first and last time I've been on the train, without a ticket!

I would repost this in the Motoring, Public Transport & Cycling section. Many similar type posts there so more likely to get a better response.0
