Netto's Closing

Foolishly drove past one last Thursday, with those magic words in the window = SALE, and never nipped in

Today (Monday) it has lots of workmen in ( yes - just like that ) converting into a mini Asda.

So I cant report on What exactly was in the sale, just that the stores are being emptied, and if you do a ht tp : / / ww w . locationwebmaps . co . uk / near2u / 753749 (join letters up) they also have an announcement : THIS {whichever postcode you inputted} STORE WILL CLOSE ON SATURDAY 16TH JULY 2PM TO BE TRANSFORMED IN TO A FRESH, BRIGHT, NEW LOOK ASDA SUPERMARKET. THANKS FOR ALL YOUR CUSTOM OVER THE YEARS.

If your local store has vanished, woops, you missed it too !

it says on there they're converting 147 netto stores to asda, so i'm not sure how many netto stores there are?

interesting, as we only have 1 asda in milton keynes, and tons of tescos, and one of the netto stores is right across the road from a tesco...

will have to see if that one will be converted

yes asda got to keep 147 but had to sell off the rest, The remaining 47 stores have been sold off to other companies such as Morrisons and new convenience store UGO and other retailers due to competition laws.

there was 194 stores

ours closes on the 9th of july and reopens on the 25th of july as asda know this for months. No sign of a sale yet at ours.

Ours in Kings Lynn closed Saturday just gone. In the last few weeks there have been sale signs up, but it was just the usual stuff they have in on special (household stuff). We went in on Thursday pm hoping to get some bargains with just a two days til closure. Not much of anything left, just a few groceries but everything was still full price, except the milk which had a few pence off.

Ours is closing on the 25th, really going to miss my Nettos bargins! I got a few bits cheap in there yesterday like kids wellies, (Ben 10 @ Dora) for £2 a pair, and England duvet sets for £4.

Thank god for that.

I went into a netto the other day and I didnt find it any cheaper. Some of the stuff was well overpriced for what it was.

Netto isnt like it used to be 20+ years ago when the 1st one opened near where we lived. I'll be over the moon is our local netto changes to an asda.

The one in Castleford became a Morrisons which is still empty of customers, the problem is, the car park is INFESTED by a set of crooks known as UKPAO Parking or some self appointed title and ever since they set up camp the whole estate of shops has gone downhill rapidly.
To be honest it serves them right.
You lay with dogs you catch fleas.

The one in Leigh appears to have been refurbished, so that looks like it is staying. One of the only places where I can get my C Vit from.
