Best Before Project

Our project has the ultimate goal of reducing food waste. We want to achieve this through mass re-distribution of products with Best Before dates, passed to those in need and others who will be able to put them to good use.

This issue has received a bit of media attention in the past but we believe there needs to be a massive media campaign to inform and educate the public towards a better understanding of what ?best before? means.

Unfortunately 'best before' labelling is associated with ?use by?,which marks a certain amount of confusion amongst the general public.

We started from the most basic premise which is to collect food which would otherwise be sent to landfill,and distribute it to organisations working with those in need.

The products are taken from a range of high street supermarkets in different parts of London and also from several cash-and-carry places and stored in our warehouse.

On the recipients side, we have established relationship with four charities.
We are keen to work with more charities,organisations,
community groups etc.

Individuals are also free to collect food from our
warehouse in London ( near Seven Sisters) .
Volunteers staff the warehouse so appointments need to be made for individual collections.

Hi All

Elisa and Hanna would like to let invite those of you in the london area to a FREE food giveaway this friday.

On Friday 17th June we will be at the warehouse
and would like to invite you all ( along with colleagues,families,friends etc) to come along
and collect some FREE food.

The warehouse will be open from between 10am-1pm.

The address of the warehouse is : Tottenham Hale,Fenman Court,
(side of the Shelbourne Road)
London N17

That's a shame Reverbe but maybe you might be able to make it next week.They would like to have the warehouse open everyday
but it's run by volunteers so at the moment they are opening as and when they can which is roughly once a week.
I will post the dates and time it is open but feel free to contact the
problem directly aswell.

Hi All

Regarding the free food give-away event this Friday held by Best Before Project in Tottenham area: we have been very pleased by response from food charities, community organisations and individuals alike interested in distributing the food, donating food and volunteering for the project.
Thanks you all!

However, due to limited stock we have already allocated the food which will be given away this Friday to people who have contacted Best Before project directly.

So if you have NOT contacted Best Before project directly
and RECEIVED a personal reply from me then please DO NOT TURN
up to this particular event as the food has been allocated and
you will be disappointed ( and we don't won't that).
The project is growing and we will keep you informed of future events.'
