I think Uncertains post was reasonable enough - but all his/her suggested scenarios require evidence? Like self- cert notes with signatures? Uncertain is coorect - a breakdown would be required - but walking off a job with no notice having taken leave and been paid for it when it wasn't accrued - OP, you asked for this. I realise that not every em,ployer is your dream employer - but you created this situation and now you have to face up to it.0

If you worked for me and walked off the job, I'd sue you to hell and back.
Advice like yours just gives people false hope.
Well, SarEl seems to agree with me and she knows more about employment law than you ever will!
Many years of working for my professional association has taught me that employers with attitudes like yours, typified by "I'd sue you to hell and back" are usually inadequate people looking for somebody else to blame for their own shortcomings!
A successful business generally has far fewer staff problems. If it does run into one it has the sense to deal with it in the quickest and most cost effective way possible.
The struggling business on the other hand tends to get diverted into petty arguments and battles that are simply not cost effective even if they manage to win them.
Have a look in the mirror and see which one you recognise!0
