Don't disabled people go to cricket matches, then?

In a desperate attempt to find something different and interesting as a present for my mums birthday, I've bought us - the whole family - tickets for a 20/20 match one friday evening at Trent Bridge (mum is a sports fanatic, and been saying for ages we should take my son to see a 20/20 match).
Now we have never been before, and having sorted out the tickets, I suddenly thought "ooh, must check out parking and so forth". I'm disabled with some mobility difficulties (not wheelchair tho'), and Mum is 81 with artificial Knees & hip, so neither of us walk very far.
Utterly astounded to find nothing at all about disabled access to the ground on the Notts County Cricket Club website, so emailed to ask. I got this reply
We have parking available in the Bridge Field carpark which is located approximately 200 - 300 yards from the ground, opposite the CoOp in West Bridgford. Alternatively, parking is available in the Nottingham Forest FC executive car park located off Lady Bay Bridge. Both of these car parks are charged at £5 for the day and you can turn up and gain access on the day itself.
So apparently, there is no reserved provision made at all for disabled people - some of whom may be far less able than we are (in our case DH may be able to drop us off by the gate and park the car for us, but what if my Mum wants to go on another occasion by herself??), and in this day and age it really surprised me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not a militant disabled campaigner, and don't think we should have a God-given right to park free of charge everywhere. But compared to the facilities available in other entertainment venues, I find this quite strange.

I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

Sounds like there is no on site parking facilities available for anyone. Impossible to create "reserved provision" then !.0

I might be wrong, but I think they do have a car-park actually in the walls of the grounds ...I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0

Reply to their e-mail and say...
"thank you for your reply giving details of parking facilities near the ground but my query was, what parking previsions are available at the ground for those who are dissabled and have mobility problems?""Life is what you make of it, whoever got anywhere without some passion and ambition?0 -

Car Parking
The Fox Road Car Park pass allows access to the car park at the back of the Fox Road Stand for weekends and bank holidays only.
The Hound Road Car Park pass allows access to the Hound Road Car Park within the ground. This is available to disabled badge holders only and availability is limited.
Both car parks are unavailable during the npower Test Match, the floodlit NatWest Series One Day International and other special matches during the season (i.e. televised matches, T20 Finals Day, etc).
Car parking is available in the Nottingham Forest Executive Car Park on all home domestic cricket match days, provided there is no football match at the City Ground. The cost is £2.00 per car per day for Notts CCC members on production of your membership card. For any domestic quarter or semi-final there will be a charge of £5.00 per car.0 -
This is from the website

That's on the Members page. From the email I received, I'm guessing that members who are blue badge holders get to park in the hound road car park ???I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.0 -
I suspect that any reserved parking would be for those with a blue badge, you might have got a different answer if you'd asked them specifically about that, but if you don't have a blue badge there probably isn't anything, nor any need for them to provide anything. don't know for sure of course.
Websites aren't always laid out very logically. It might be that there's only disabled parking for disabled members, but it might not be restricted to members! They might just have only thought to add the bit about disabled parking to the bit about members parking, rather than anywhere non-members might think to look.Signature removed for peace of mind0
