I have been looking into wholesale web sites abroad in which you can buy bulk of a certain product at very cheap rates. However I am not aware of our system. If I am to buy some goods from usa to be here in the uk what are the charges I have to look out foor, goods such as perfumes. Any advice etc please?

You will be charged import tax & VAT too I think - the items are for commercial purposes & you will get stung by customs for it.
If you do decide to go ahead try & buy as much as you can for shipment in one go as it keeps duties down.
It is also advisable to ring customs in advance & let them know exactly what you will be recieving as this speeds things up alot I gather
