If youre feeling charitable, drop them into any opticians for third world countries.
Alwrence = you dont have to have new frames every year, just get your old frames fitted with new lenses.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

This isn't recommended by Opticians, they won't guarantee your frames will come back with new lenses in, and the worse case scenario then, is you end up with no specs at all.
This is from the Vision Aid website -
"How to donate glasses to Vision Aid Overseas To donate your glasses to Vision Aid Overseas, please take them to your local optician.
Every optical practice in the UK and Ireland can get glasses to Vision Aid Overseas free of charge by utilising our partnership with the optical courier DX."0 -

Sorry - but that it total rubbish. If they lose the frame, them they are liable. If they don't put new lenses in, then that is fraudulent. If the frames break, (which is extremely unlikely with metal frames), then that's a small risk.Beware the character seeking personal gain masquerading as a moral crusader.

My optician was quite happy to use an existing frame for new lenses. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
I'm not sure on that as I've never done it.
Pop over to the ebay thread though - lots of helpful and knowledgeable people there for ebay questions
