The bulls and the bears on this forum are the same

Two sides of the same coin. And a reason for the financial mess the UK is in.

Bulls and bears on this forum are all obsessed with houses and house prices. Bears dream of owning their own home. Thats why they are on here all the time. Bulls feel that by owning their own home they are living the dream. They see their home as their castle, and treasure it as their best investment ever. For many it is their pension. They jeleously guard its value. Sad

This is what got us into trouble. The crazy attitude of people like you, who are obsessed with home ownership and the debt it brings.

Next time you blame the bankers or politicians for the UK's economic problems, maybe you should look in the mirror first.

I have no wish to ever own a house. I hope the government makes rental legislation to further protect tenants, but on house prices, I really couldnt care less. But most of you cant see past home ownership as some nirvana. Pretty sad, but not unusual in the UK. Maybe one day you will reach my enlightened perspective.

Bulls and bears, you are more alike than you know. People like you caused the housing bubble.
I am not a financial expert, and the post above is merely my opinion.:j

All true, but there are only about 20 people on this forum, so it doesn't really matter all that much in the grand scheme of things. Remember that the general public isn't anything like the views you see as the norm on this forum.

Very true - this forum is very highly polarised with very little middle-ground nor medium leanings one way or t'other.

edit - that's not bad going, Cleaver. You've been thanked by Google !!!!

Not quite true in my case as I am a homeowner but would be classed as a bear on here because I think house prices are overvalued.

It's just I feel that rampant HPI as we had a few years ago has done nothing but harm to the general economy apart from line the pockets of a few at the expense of many to be able to afford a roof over their heads.

I own a house a flat and rent as it suits me I don't care what happens but in the past the Government bought in rent reforms which caused the mess that we are in now.

Blank, you just contradicted all your previous posts again. Can you make your mind up what your argument actually is and get back to us?

Blank, if you are the sort of person who owns a foreign car, tv, vacuum cleaner, kettle, etc then you are as responsible for the state of the country as the bulls and bears on this site. For very many years we have been running a deficit, nothing to do with house prices but to do with people spending their money on foreign made goods (and taking holidays abroad rather than the UK etc). I fully accept that I am as guilty as the next man for the state of the country because of my buying foreign appliances etc - only difference is that I am not going around blaming others for it.

Risking that some may consider this evidence that you are my sockpuppet, I totally agree.

Don't know but if you are serious about the state of the economy then perhaps you should do without those you cannot (you can buy a UK assembled car which I will accept is probably a necessity). You can certainly holiday in the UK.
