Weird o2 thing, is it ID fraud?

o2 try and deliver an exchange phone to my mums house where I havent lived for 6 years in my name. Mum phones me, then refuses delivery.
i ring o2 who have no knowledge of an account at that address, or an order, i say it sounds like a id fraud thing, they refuse to help as there isnt an order to that address despite the fact they've tried to send a phone. the only thing they have at that address is an o2 payg sim from 2003. They refuse to put me through to fraud, or complaints, and the supervisor refuses to speak to me.
So if it's id fraud, why is there no record of an order? could it just be o2 being mental?

Could it just have been a mistake?I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

If it was ID fraud why would they send the phone to your address? Sounds like a mistake to me.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

This looks like a known fraud method. Basically, the fraudster will turn up at your mothers address and ask for the phones that were delivered there 'by mistake'. I can't remember if that means they've put it on your credit/debit card. This type of thing has been in our local paperOfficial DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 208 - Proud To Have Dealt With My Debts DEBT FREE DECEMBER 2008!!!0

Well that wouldnt work because the phone was in my name and as it's an unusual name (and my mum knows it) she's unlikely to say yes. As it was we refused the delivery anyway.0 -
A similar thing happened to me with O2 and it's bacause when you change your address you only change it with their accounts department. They have very seperate sales and delivery departments. I recieved an upgrade offer via a previous address. I phoned and took the upgrade and they sent the phone to the address before the last one!! Took me a while to sort out. Just kept telling them you haven't received your goods which is true. Eventaully they got it right!! It sounds like a mistake.
Good luck0 -
thanks

(I still hate them though...)0
